Having emigrated from the Netherlands, with a Polynesian mother and Dutch father, I grew up seeing life through a uniquely diverse cultural lens. I learned at an early age that it was okay to be different, and quickly understood that everyone has their own perspective on life, most of which, are completely valid.
This helped me, naturally, gravitate towards UX design. In this field, empathy and understanding of the users' needs are crucial. It is imperative that companies and brands today design their products with their user-needs at the forefront. I am passionate about designing inclusive and meaningful user experiences. Seriously, I love this stuff.
Some things I enjoy outside of design are skateboarding, surfing, art, and music. I love spending time with my wife and our two daughters. For the last decade, I have been fortunate enough to live on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The water is warm and the waves are tasty! [Spicolli voice]

Whether it's graphic design, interior design, fashion, UX/UI design, I quickly understood that my differences gave me my unique approach in the creative process.
